In the current environment, there are many unanswered questions and unexpected consequences related to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation globally. There is much we cannot predict! The ILTA EB, the LTRC 2020 Organizing Committee, the ILTA-LTRC Advisory Committee, and other groups/individuals have been in communication to gather information in order to make decisions about the future that minimize the likely impact of COVID-19 on our members, the organization, and public safety. Until recently, the ILTA EB has been thinking that while it makes sense for conferences and meetings scheduled for the Spring to be canceled, LTRC 2020 is not till June, so we should wait out this health scare.

2. The 7th International Conference of the Association of Language Testers in Europe

In light of the rapidly evolving Covid-19 situation and the uncertain projections for the next few months, we announce with regret that this year’s conference of the Association for Language Testing and Assessment of Australia and New Zealand (ALTAANZ), which was due to be held November 19-21 at the University of Melbourne, will be postponed to 2021. This decision was made by the ALTAANZ 2020 Organising Committee in close consultation with the ALTAANZ Executive Board. Details concerning the conference in 2021 will be announced in due time. Colleagues who had already submitted a proposal will be contacted separately.
